The
Yellow Moon Lodge
Built in 2003, this 1120 square foot cabin with pine interior/exterior
and a deck consists of two bedrooms with queen beds and
private baths (and one twin sleeper), down comforters
and Egyptian cotton towels, a living room with two queen
sleeper sofas, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area,
washer/dryer, ceiling fans, and a sprawling porch all
under a tin roof. In a wooded setting with Southern exposure,
it’s tastefully decorated and includes historical
photographs. Interior bedroom doors key-lock for added
privacy. It comfortably sleeps eight people (four couples),
but may sleep ten. A swing and rocking chairs add to the
ambiance of our huge “hoot-owl porch.”

fee, plus a refundable damage deposit

Lamour
Landing
This little pine exterior and pine/cedar interior cabin
with lots of light and a tin roof is the perfect private
space for romance, creative endeavors, bird watching,
or just quiet time. It’s our version of “Appalachia
with an island twist,” since the décor tastefully
combines mountain living with a hint of the tropics. It’s
230 square feet; furnished with a spacious bathroom, full
bed, down comforters and Egyptian cotton towels, compact
frig, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, ceiling fans, and
corner bar for dining. Was once the blacksmith shop of
the owner’s great grandfather. A huge hammock out
back invites napping in good weather.
$100 a night, plus $30 cleaning
fee, plus a refundable damage deposit

Gitche
Gumee
This is the ultimate in luxury outdoor
lodging, ideal for nature lovers and folks who want comforts
when they sleep under the stars. The teepee (shown on the
Home Page) is 16 feet in diameter, which makes for a rather
large room. Enjoy a queen bed with linens and a carpet floor.
(Bring your own sleeping bag and cooler with ice!) Upon
request, there’s room for a second queen bed. Just
yards from the teepee, the bathhouse with antique stained
glass (shown above, left) includes a toilet, hot water shower,
Egyptian cotton towels, and ample storage for clothing and
gear. All cooking/eating utensils and lanterns are provided.
Built to look like a small cabin, the bathhouse has a small
covered porch with chairs, perfect for having your morning
brew from the electric coffeemaker. A fire ring, gas grill,
firewood, and a Mayan hammock add to the magic of the site.
The bathhouse door key-locks to protect valuables. By a
stream in lush woods, it’s unique to any place you’ve
ever stayed!
$50 a night for one couple/$75
for two couples, plus a $30 cleaning fee, plus a refundable
damage deposit
